What You Need to Know About Cold Saws Blades

A properly maintained cold saw blade should last a long time, even with extensive use. Circular cold saw blades can endure as many as 800 to 1,000 cuts before needing to be sharpened, and they can be sharpened up to 30 or 40 times during the lifespan of the blade.

Scotchman has been selling circular cold saws for over 40 years, and we're proud to lead United States cold sawing in blade knowledge and cutting applications.

A circular cold saw is a machine that cuts like a milling machine, cutting chips with torque vs. speed, or friction. This method allows you to achieve an accurate cut, nearly burr free, without any work hardening of the material.

The heat goes with the chips leaving the material cool to the touch. Cold sawing accuracy is typically + or - .002” per diameter inch.
