Sales Office Manager / International Accounts Manager

If you ask Edna Dale what a “typical” day looks like at Scotchman Industries, don’t expect a calm, predictable answer. With her signature honesty (and just a little sparkle in her eye), she’ll tell you it’s a “you-know-what show.” Around here, typical isn’t really a thing—and that’s part of the fun.

For nearly three decades, Edna has been one of the driving forces behind the daily operations of the sales office. As Sales Office Manager and International Accounts Manager, she oversees everything from data entry and shipping to invoicing, returns, consignment tracking, commissions, freight claims, and international sales. If it keeps the wheels turning, Edna is somewhere in the middle of it—keeping things moving forward.

And she does it all with grit, humor, and just the right amount of feistiness.

Edna thrives on the new and never-ending challenges that come her way. Every day brings something unexpected—an urgent request, a last-minute change, an international curveball—and she meets it head-on. She genuinely enjoys the problem-solving and the fast pace. The chaos? That’s just part of the excitement.

Of course, even the best jugglers have their moments. Some days, the biggest challenge is maintaining a smile (and sanity) while balancing it all. As Edna says, “I always smile. Sometimes it’s just buried very deep within and doesn’t have time to surface.” That sense of humor—and that feisty resilience—has carried her through almost 30 years of being a vital player in keeping operations running smoothly.

Before bringing her talents to Scotchman, Edna worked as a veterinary assistant—another role that required quick thinking and a steady hand. Her background includes Midland High School and Black Hills State University, and her commitment to service extends far beyond the office. She has been a certified EMT for more than 30 years, is a Lifetime Member of the South Dakota EMS Association, and has served on its Executive Council for 17 years. Calm under pressure isn’t just a workplace skill—it’s part of who she is.

When she’s not keeping the sales office on track, Edna enjoys spending time with family and friends, competing in puzzle competitions, and diving into murder mysteries—especially books by James Patterson or lighter reads from Nora Roberts and J. D. Robb. She’s a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a crime-show junkie who recently binge-watched Landman and Criminal Minds, and she proudly drives her Jeep Grand Cherokee—better known as “The Tank.”

If she ever won the lottery, she’d celebrate with a Diet Coke and a Bud Light. If she could change one thing in the world, she’d address world hunger. And if she could choose any superpower? Kindness.

Edna may describe her day as a little chaotic, and she may keep that smile tucked away sometimes—but her dedication, loyalty, and spirited personality are impossible to miss. She’s strong, sharp, caring, and yes—just feisty enough to keep everyone on their toes.

After nearly three decades, Edna Dale isn’t just part of the sales office at Scotchman Industries—she’s part of its backbone.

Thanks, Edna — we love having you on the Scotchman team!
